Sundials

Porrera has a great amount of sundials, to his urban kernel as well as to his their municipal term. We can find a great variety of really interesting pieces, like the vertical clock|watch declining, called clock of the Plaça de la Guineu or also clock of Afternoon; piece technically complex and difficult to find all over Catalonia.

On the other hand, we have the most emblematic clock of the town, placed in the Pau Casals street, squaring vertical declining of great dimensions, of complex technique, with the inclination of the solar and zodiacal lines like this like a curious riddle related with the ornamentation of the same clock.

In all the rest of sundials existing in the urban kernel we find with an extense range of colors and forms with the addition that, as a rule, are framed in façades preserved of the same period of the clock constituted of stucco of lime, paintings in|on the fresco, that they give a genuine aftertaste that evokes the starts of the last century and the splendor economic, social and urbanistic that Porrera enjoyed.
